Considerations when using Component Analytics – Component library

The simplest way to implement Component Analytics is to tag an existing collection of reusable components.

A collection of reusable components is usually called a component library.

You can look at component libraries as a collection of lego blocks you use to build your pages.

They’re buttons, links, and other pieces that you reuse all over your site. Designed to fit with your brand.

Tagging elements in your component library simplifies tagging your site.

You can tag the component once in the component library and wherever it’s used you will have analytics.

You could automate the tagging of some Interaction Components without a component library. Using their HTML element counterparts.

But, the Layout Components would go untagged. Which means not knowing where an interaction happened.

Making it impossible to follow the customer journey.
