Component Analytics Anonymization – Inline Approach

The second approach to anonymization in Component Analytics is called the Inline Approach.

Compared to the Components Approach, the Inline Approach uses a blacklist.

The blacklist contains all the data that could be sensitive in the current session, such as the user’s PII.

The Inline Approach checks the content of every click for sensitive data. Then replaces the content.

  • Interaction Component name: link
  • Interaction type: click
  • Interaction Component content: sensitive
  • Layout Component name: account list
  • Where in the Layout Component: row 2

But, you can set it up to only replace the sensitive parts while keeping the rest.

You can also replace the sensitive content in a way that’s more legible.

In the example above, the Interaction Component content would become *Account Number* instead of sensitive.

Making it easier to understand the interaction when analyzing the data.
