Component Analytics data sheet

Component Analytics needs a lot of data on every interaction.

The data needed (* = required):

  • Interaction Component name*: The name of the interaction component. Ex. button, link
  • Interaction type*: What type of interaction. Ex. click, hover
  • Interaction Component content*: What content is inside the Interaction Component. Ex. “Buy”, “Add to Cart”
  • Layout Component name*: Which Layout Component the Interaction Component is inside. Ex. card, menu, or variations like product card.
  • Layout Component title: The title in the Layout Component. For example, if it’s a product card this would be the name of the product
  • Where in the Layout Component: Identifiable locations inside the Layout Component. For example on a list or a table, this would be the row number.

The bottom-up approach to tagging means you only need to tag two Components to get this data. The Layout Component and the Interaction Component.

Tomorrow I will show you an example of how this looks in action.
