First site type we explore in the series, blogs.
Most blogs have simple navigation, there’s usually only one way to get to a blog post.
Furthermore, most blog posts do not include a lot of interactivity. It’s mostly links to other posts.
Component Analytics is based around interactions and customer journeys.
Blogs have limited interaction and high bounce rates due to people reading one post and leaving.
Because of this fact, Component Analytics may be overkill to implement on your blog.
On a blog, you can ignore interactions and focus on pageviews.
A complement can be tagging how far the customer scrolls to see if they read the whole blogpost.
If your blog has more than 2 ways to reach a blog post, Component Analytics can be of interest.
For example, on the blog post page, you have groups of posts titled “Similar posts”, “Other’s also read” or “Top posts”.
You can then compare how customers end up on posts, what journeys are most common etc.
